As a firm, we are keenly aware of the needs in our community. We have chosen to help several non-profit organizations whose causes we support.
The Capital Region's Largest Pro-Am Charity Golf Tournament
Former Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants Head Coach Bill Parcells will host and play in The Affinity Group Inaugural P.G.A. Pro-Am Golf Tournament in 2008, to benefit the North East Parent and Child Society. The tournament will take place on Monday June 30th at the Saratoga National Golf Course and will contain both a Professional Tournament and an Amateur Scramble division. The professionals will play for a $10,000 purse sponsored by The Affinity Group, LLC. We are particularly excited that Bill Parcells has agreed to host the tournament and his involvement can only serve to make this a great day for everyone connected with golf and charitable work. Northeast Parent & Child
With 450 professional staff, 150 foster parents, and 3,845 volunteers, Northeast Parent & Child Society daily provides critical care at 15 locations across the Capital Region to 1,000 children and family members each day who suffer from poverty, child abuse, neglect, emotional trauma, behavioral disorders, truancy, school failure, substance abuse, mental illness, and juvenile delinquency.
Already under motion, The Affinity Group has created what will be the signature golf event of 2008, benefiting Northeast Parent & Child. The event will be an official tournament of the PGA of Northeastern New York, allowing amateur teams to play alongside golf professionals competing for prize money. WNYT – News Channel 13 has signed on to promote the event and we are very excited to announce that Bill Parcells has agreed to be the event's honorary chairman.
Special Olympics
Special Olympics aims to demonstrate that, when people with and without intellectual disabilities are brought together by its year-round program of training and competition, myths are dispelled, attitudes are changed and new opportunities to embrace and celebrate people with intellectual disabilities are created.
The Affinity Group, LLC was a sponsor of the 2007 Summer Special Olympics which took place in Albany in June 2007. We closed our office doors for the day, and our team headed down to SUNY Albany - where the competitions were being held - to volunteer at the events.
Wildwood School
Wildwood School is a private, not-for-profit day program for students between the ages of 3 to 21 with neurological impairments, complex learning disabilities, autism and other neurologically-based developmental disorders. Established in 1967, Wildwood enrolls more than 187 students from 54 school districts in 13 counties.
The Affinity Group, LLC has been a Platinum Level Sponsor of Wildwood's Annual Gala for the past two years. In addition, Nick Preddice is a member of the Capital Cabinet Campaign and Treasurer and Investment Committee Chair.
Peaceful Acres
Peaceful Acres is committed to its mission to provide an effective therapeutic environment utilizing horses as the tools for crisis intervention, emotional growth and learning and to assist people therapeutically to move beyond crisis and develop healthier, safe and self fulfilling lives.
Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC)
SPAC’s mission is to cultivate, promote, foster, sponsor and develop among its members and the community at large, an appreciation, understanding, and love of the performing arts. SPAC hosts the New York City Ballet and The Philadelphia Orchestra, and presents chamber, jazz, rock, pop and opera performances, as well as the Saratoga Wine & Food Festival.
During the 2007 Wine & Food Fest, The Affinity Group, LLC was the corporate sponsor of the "Live on Stage" event, hosted for VIP's the evening before the main event.
